The DuPont Chevrolet Monte Carlo's paint scheme was developed by Sam Bass, the well-renowed painter of NASCAR scenes. Jeff's car and all Winston Cup cars have a wheelbase of 110 inches, 74 inches in width, 51 inches in height, track of 60.5, and a ground clearance of about 4 inches. The car weighs about 3,400 pounds and has a distribution of 52% in front and 48% in the back.
The chassis framing is made from rectangular tubing, braces and round cage tube. The front suspention is supported by Double A Arms and the rear suspention is supported by solid axles, truck arms, Panard Rod. The Steering is made by heavy duty worm and pinion. The brakes are four wheel disc, the wheels 9.5x15 inches, and the tires are Goodyear Eagle Speedway Radials, 12x15 inches
The engine is a Cheverolet V-8-SB2 it displaces with 358 Cubic Inches with a compression ratio of 12:1. The carburetion is a 750 cfm 4-barrel Holley. It can get up to 700 horsepower @ 8000 RPM and torque of 520 lbs. ft. @6200 RPM. It can hold up to 22 gallons of gas and 16 quarts of oil. This car's diecast version is a hot seller right now and looks to be even more popular than the rainbow scheme. It certainly looks more hot rodish. It also seems to go a little faster.
